A Whale Tale!
In 2011 Friends of La Jolla Shores honored J.J. the famed baby gray whale with a life-sized bronze statue, sculpted by D. Lynn Reeves.
The statue was installed in the children’s playground at Kellogg Park La Jolla Shores, for all to enjoy!

Images were provided by local and professional photographers as part of a competition.
Junior Lifeguards
The children's playground is designed around the ocean theme of “The Map”®, with “junior lifeguard towers” as the main structure.
The new playground was built by member of the community.
Landscape Improvement
Eagle scouts helped out with new landscaping designed to improve traffic flows around the south restroom and The Map®.
The project was directed by Eagle scout candidate Matthew Pawinski
